As our head of product, Mat brings his vast knowledge and experience in the Fintech space to the team. Having worked for Australia’s largest mortgage aggregator and companies like American Express, Mat has experience leading the product and technology functions of different SaaS companies. Mat is data-driven, customer-centric and a nurturing people leader. He is an avid traveller (having been to 37 countries), yogi and motorcycle rider. Mat is also continuing his studies currently completing his MBA (Technology) at UNSW's AGSM.

Joel brings more than 10 years of experience working in sales and partnerships. As a senior account executive, Joel brings his extensive experience in the tech ecosystem and the capital-raising sector to the team. With a client-first approach, attention to detail and strong relationship-building skills, Joel ensures the smooth running of our partnership development. Outside of work, Joel is a keen traveller having visited over 35 different countries and deciding to live in four of those for an extended period.

Nicholas has over 2 years' of cybersecurity and consulting experience. With top interpersonal skills, he is customer-focused and a compassionate individual. He is also a skilled professional in designing and implementing controls, conducting assessments, and delivering security awareness training. His love for travelling, camping, photography, and bars will soon see him relocate to Europe. Nicholas is also a 2nd Dan black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, meaning he can keep himself safe, as well as your business.

Gemma is our in-house marketing specialist who brings her passion and bubbly personality along with her experience and tertiary studies to the team. She has a range of experience in multiple areas of marketing including content creation, social media marketing, graphic design, website management, customer relationship management, event management and market research. In her spare time, you will find Gemma exploring the Australian 4-wheel drive tracks, at the gym or with her nose stuck in a book.

Originally from County Wicklow in Ireland, Roghan joins the team as one of our senior consultants. After working for a Big 4 firm in Dublin, Roghan brings his knowledge and experience in Risk Assurance, with a speciality in SOC1 and SOC2 engagements for both large and multinational clients to the team. With his detailed orientation, hardworking nature, and client-focused approach, Roghan works with the rest of the team to ensure high-level outcomes for all clients. Outside of work, Roghan is a mad sports fan (having represented Ireland at an underage level in both athletics and touch rugby). He also enjoys reading a good book or playing the piano.

After making the jump from the client side to the auditor side, Catherine (Cat) joins our team as a senior consultant. She is our first New Zealand-based employee with over six years of experience working across many high-growth startups. Cat has experience in leading the audit process and managing compliance projects, and has a speciality in SOC 2. Cat brings her attention to detail, empathy, client-centricity, organisational and interpersonal skills to the team. Outside of work, Cat spends her time outdoors with her dog and fiance, kickboxing or rock climbing. If you love sweet treats Cat is your person with her side hustle baking all sorts of goodies, including wedding cakes!

Having recently completed his degree, Izaac brings the latest knowledge and learning to his role as a consultant at AssuranceLab. During his time at university, Izaac completed an internship in the cybersecurity team of one of Australia’s leading insurance companies, providing him with invaluable hands-on experience alongside his studies. He brings his enthusiasm, logical thinking and learning-focused attitude to the team. Outside of work, you will find Izaac rock climbing or flying drones. hanks Jack

Kate started with the AssuranceLab team whilst completing a university project as part of her Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Information Technology degree. After completing said project Kate moved into a consultant role with the team where she brings the knowledge and skills from her study and real-world experience to any project. Kate’s attention to detail, ability to learn and grow and friendly nature makes her an asset to the team. Outside of work, you will find Kate baking up a storm in the kitchen.
